چکیده

Let be a nite dimensional hereditary algebra over a nite eld k; H(() and C(() be respectively the Hall algebra and the composition algebra of ; P be the isomorphism classes of nite dimensional-modules and I the isomorphism classes of simple-modules. We deene and , 2 P, to be the right and left derivations of H(() respectively. By using these derivations and the action of the braid group on the set of exceptional sequences of-mod , we provide an eeective algorithm of calculating root vectors. This means that we get an inductive method to express u as the combinations of elements u i in the Hall algebra, where i 2 I and 2 P is any exceptional-module. Because of the canonical isomorphism between the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group and the generic composition algebra, our algorithm is applicable directly to quantum groups.

Finite Dimensional Algebras, Quantum Groups and Finite Groups of Lie Type

We shall discuss generic extension monoids associated with finite dimensional (basic) hereditary algebras of finite or cyclic type and related applications to Ringel–Hall algebras, (and hence, to quantum groups). We shall briefly review the geometric setting of quantum gln by Beilinson, Lusztig and MacPherson and its connections to Ringel– Hall algebras and q-Schur algebras. In the second part ...

TfHE OCTONIONS

The octonions are the largest of the four normed division algebras. While somewhat neglected due to their nonassociativity, they stand at the crossroads of many interesting fields of mathematics. Here we describe them and their relation to Clifford algebras and spinors, Bott periodicity, projective and Lorentzian geometry, Jordan algebras, and the exceptional Lie groups. We also touch upon thei...

Bgp-reflection Functors and Lusztig's Symmetries: a Ringel-hall Algebra Approach to Quantum Groups

According to the canonical isomorphisms between the Ringel-Hall algebras (composition algebras) and the quantum groups, we deduce the Lusztig's symmetries T 00 i;1 , i 2 I, by applying the Bernstein-Gelfand-Ponomarev reeection functors to the Drinfeld doubles of Ringel-Hall algebras. The fundamental properties of T 00 i;1 including the following can be obtained conceptually, (1). T 00 i;1 induc...

Tracks, Lie’s, and Exceptional Magic

1 Introduction Sometimes a solution to a mathematical problem is so beautiful that it can impede further progress for a whole century. So is the case with the Killing-Cartan classification of semi-simple Lie algebras [Killing 1888; Cartan 1952]. It is elegant, it is beautiful, and it says that the 3 classical families and 5 exceptional algebras are all there is, but what does that mean? The con...

Noncommutative Projective Curves and Quantum Loop Algebras

We show that the Hall algebra of the category of coherent sheaves on a weighted projective line over a finite field provides a realization of the (quantized) enveloping algebra of a certain nilpotent subalgebra of the affinization of the corresponding Kac-Moody algebra. In particular, this yields a geometric realization of the quantized enveloping algebra of elliptic (or 2-toroidal) algebras of...
